David Collier is an Irish music maker-upper, and sometimes writer-downer, based in Amsterdam.  His music has been described as “aurally stunning” (Totally Dublin), “conceptual elegant” (I care if you listen) and “bewitching” (RTE LyricFM).

Performances of David’s pieces have been given by internationally renowned ensembles and musicians including orkest de ereprijs, Ensemble Avalon, So PercussionKate Ellis and Mobius Percussion. His music has been featured at international festivals including New Music Dublin, Kilkenny Arts Festival and the Young Composers’ Meeting.

In 2012 David created In Your Own Time a piece of interactive music as an Android app, which has been downloaded over 2000 times. In 2015 he worked with director Bob Gallagher on an experimental music film to accompany his string quartet Smacht. The film was released in tandem with the release of David’s debut album by Ergodos. He is currently collaborating with Combined Creatives on a multi-sensory performance called Ritual which premiered May 2016.

David has a B.Eng. from Dublin City University, and a MPhil. in Music & Media Technologies from Trinity College Dublin. While at Trinity he studied composition with Linda Buckley. He is currently studying with Richard Ayres at Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
